Fall Season Kickoff Brings GOTRKC Coaches Together

Girls on the Run Serving Greater Kansas City officially kicked off the fall season with two Season Kickoff sessions on Thursday, September 10 and Saturday, September 12.

More than 120 new and returning coaches joined us, along with 15 volunteers, two board members, eight community vendors and five GOTRKC staff members. The sessions gave coaches a chance to connect, prepare for the season, pick up supplies and hear more about the impact they’ll help create for girls across the Kansas City area.

From training and breakout conversations to connecting with community partners, the kickoff was a celebration of the people who make each Girls on the Run season possible.

“Our coaches bring so much heart, energy and encouragement to this program. Seeing more than 120 of them come together before the season begins is an incredible reminder of the community behind every GOTR girl. We’re excited for what this fall season will bring.”

Victoria Wymer, COO, Girls on the Run Serving Greater Kansas City

For Program Coordinator Salina Berg, the event was especially meaningful as her first Season Kickoff with GOTRKC.

“It was so exciting to experience my first Season Kickoff and see the energy our coaches bring to Girls on the Run. You could feel how much they care about their teams and the girls they’ll be supporting this season. It made me even more excited to be part of the work ahead.”

Salina Berg, Program Coordinator

A huge thank you to our coaches, volunteers, board members, vendors and staff who helped make Season Kickoff such a success.

And this is only the beginning. Teams will spend the fall building confidence, connections and healthy habits before coming together for our Fall Season Celebratory 5K on Saturday, October 31.
